New Years Resolutions

I read an article this past weekend and wanted to share it here. I couldn’t agree more with the writer about how to be effective at making New Years resolutions and I thought I’d highlight some tips to be successful for 2025! Read this full NY Times article, or simply look over my three bullet points when forming your resolutions.

My list is as follows:

  1. Choose something measurable.
(Read: “Work out more” is not a good one. There’s nothing specific here. “Strength train twice a week” is something you can account for, and in my extremely biased opinion, should do.)
  2. Be realistic.
“Make a salad every day” is probably not going to happen, but resolving to make a salad 3 times in a week is doable. (Quick tip: Wash your greens ahead of time, and put them in a gallon size storage bag to make your life a little easier)
  3. Pick something that has meaning for you.
I would never resolve to take more naps, for instance, despite what some people think might be good for me, but I would resolve to meditate. (Side note: I tried to make it a goal to take one nap a week this past year and I was successful for one week exactly.)
  • Make a salad twice a week
  • Try a new recipe once a month
  • Meditate twice a week
  • Nap once this year (just kidding)

A very happy and healthy 2025 to all of you!
My goal is to educate, inspire and lead clients to a healthy and happy lifestyle.
And maybe make you laugh a little too!
I love feedback! Let me know if there’s something you’d like to see or learn more about.
