“After a year recovering from a torn ACL, I decided to get back into running and a close friend of mine had told me that she no longer suffered from knee pain with the trainer she worked with. I did not hesitate and immediately booked a session. I started scheduling one on one virtual appointments with Jenn once a week in preparation for my Fall marathon and bc of Covid, I worried if it would be difficult. My first consultation with Jenn was great. She analyzed my injury and set a baseline off of my current athletic abilities and strength. I am not the type of person that fancies the gym. In fact, you can’t even get me to go even if there’s one in my building lol. The only thing I’m remotely good at is anything cardio related. But coming out of a serious injury, I needed more than just aerobic luck to master this 26.2 mile race. I really needed to strengthen my hips, legs, and core and Jenn created all the exercise I needed during our Spring-Summer sessions. She was EXTREMELY sweet and encouraging and never judged the fact that I struggled with 30 second planks . She always started things slow and used weights that I was comfortable with and we would add more from there. I kid you not when I tell you the struggle and fear I had in my face when she told me to order a 26lbs kettlebell because I had never lifted or worked out with anything over 10lbs. But sure enough after a few weeks squatting with 26lbs was no longer too difficult for me!!! It was the first time in my years of running where I did not suffer tendinitis or any knee pains during all my runs. I knew strength training was important but I was never motivated to do it on my own. I’m really glad for the regular zoom sessions with Jenn because she is always so on top of it and will accommodate to your schedule if things don’t go to plan (life right?). My goal for the marathon was to sub-4 and sure enough when time came in September, I ran the 2021 Berlin marathon and finished with a time of 3 hours and 53 mins!!! And the next day I wasn’t even sore! My body had adapted well and I’m forever thankful for Jenn’s training. Will definitely recommend anyone who’s either trying to workout for the first time or is an athlete looking to get back into a sport. You won’t be disappointed!!”

“I started strength training with Jen virtually at the start of the pandemic in March of 2020. When gyms shut down, Jen decided to host group fitness classes via zoom. It was a great way to keep up my workout routine and stay connected to people. I became pregnant with my second baby in November of 2020 and started doing more one-on-one training with Jen. Since she has both pre and postnatal fitness training, I felt very confident working out with her throughout my pregnancy.
A few months after my son was born, I got back into training with Jen and have been consistently doing so since the fall of 2021. I truly look forward to our workouts. I do not have very much free time as I am home full-time with my son and daughter, but using some of that precious free time to focus on my physical and mental health has been invaluable. I have gained a tremendous amount of strength from training with Jen. Throughout my 20s and 30s I did a lot of running and worked out with free weights in boot camp style classes. I joined Orange Theory after my first child was born in 2018 and enjoyed that, but never did anything that really focused on building strength the way I have been doing with Jen. I can honestly say that I feel stronger than I’ve ever felt and that I am lifting more weight than I ever thought I could lift. I’ve expanded our home gym by ordering multiple kettlebells, including the latest addition; a 70 lbs kettlebell!
Physically, I’ve noticed a huge difference. Not only do I feel toned, but I also feel stronger. When I do regular things around the house, like take out the garbage or recycling, lift heavy boxes, or help my husband move a piece of furniture, I feel confident that I can handle the weight. I think that the strength training has also helped improve my running. My endurance has improved and I do not feel as much joint pain as I used to feel after a run. In addition to the physical health benefits I am feeling, the mental health benefits have been amazing. On the days I work out with Jen, I feel so accomplished. My to-do list can have 100 things on it, and somehow I feel like it’s all manageable after a workout with Jen, as I’ve already prioritized my health. I have more energy on the days we work out and I am also calmer and happier on those days.
One of my favorite things about working out with Jen is that my daughter gets to see me prioritizing my health. Kayla has done her own “work out” along-side me during a few of our training sessions. Jen and I always talk about getting stronger and keeping ourselves healthy in front of Kayla. We talk about working hard and feeling good, not losing weight or looking thinner. I hope to continue to instill this positive view of exercise in Kayla so that she always sees exercise as important, but fun.
I am incredibly grateful for the time and dedication that Jen puts into preparing my workouts. She really caters each workout to my fitness level and ability and manages to always push me to challenge myself. Every session is different, which I really appreciate as I am never bored. Jen is very knowledgeable in fitness, as well as nutrition and really loves to share everything she knows to help you live a healthy life. She is a one of a kind personal trainer!”
